Melt Magazine’s Sudoku Contest
Official Contest Rules & Regulations
September 23rd, 2008
1. NO PURCHASE NECESSARY. To enter, log onto www.trestelle.ca/promotions or www.arlafoods.ca and
successfully complete the Sudoku game scoring a minimum of 50,000 points.
You must be a melt online subscriber or subscribe to melt online to be
automatically entered in the random draw. Limit one entry per person.
2. Contest commences on October 1st 2008. To be eligible, all entries must be
received on or before close of business on January 19th 2009 at 5:00 p.m. EST,
the contest closing date. Arla Foods Inc, (collectively the “Sponsor”)
and Brand Effects Marketing Inc. (the “Independent Contest Organization”)
are not responsible for any entries that are incomplete, delayed, destroyed,
lost, late or misdirected on-line however caused. Incomplete information may
result in a disqualification of entry.
3. A total of Four (4) Prizes will be awarded, two (2) Gordon Ramsay
Everyday Porcelain Tableware 16 Piece Sets, one (1) Gordon Ramsay Modular
7 Item Oven to Tableware Set, one (1) Gordon Ramsay Non-stick 10” frying pan. Approximate
total retail value is $590.00
4. A random draw from all eligible on-line entries received will be held
on January 26th 2009 at 4:00 p.m. EST at the offices of OK & D Marketing Group, 3375
North Service Road, Suite A12-15, Burlington, Ontario, L7N 3G2. The odds
of winning will depend on total number of eligible entries received. Reasonable
attempts will be made to contact the selected entrants by telephone. Contact
will only be made with the selected entrants. Before being declared a winner,
the selected entrant will have to answer, unaided, a time limited, mathematical,
skill-testing question posed during a telephone interview, at a mutually convenient
time and must complete, sign and return a Declaration and Release confirming
compliance with these Contest rules, acceptance of the Prize as awarded, and
releasing the Sponsor, their parents, affiliates, subsidiaries, successors, assigns,
agents or advertising agencies, the contest prize suppliers, the Independent
Contest Organization and their respective employees, agents, officers, directors
and representatives from any liability in connection with this Contest or the
Prizes. The Declaration and Release form must be returned to the Sponsor within
10 days of the date on the covering letter accompanying the form. If a selected
Prize entrant cannot be contacted within the specified time, is not eligible,
has failed to correctly answer the skill-testing question or to return the Declaration
and Release form within the specified time, or otherwise fails to comply with
the Contest Rules, she/he will be disqualified and will forfeit the Prize and
another Prize entrant will be selected in accordance with the Contest rules.
5. To enter and be eligible to win, entrants must be of or over the age
of majority in the Province or Territory in which they reside at the
date of entry and an individual resident of Canada, who is not an employee,
agent, officer, director or representative of the Sponsor their parents,
affiliates, subsidiaries, successors, assigns, agents or advertising
agencies, the contest prize suppliers, the Independent Contest Organization,
or persons domiciled with any of the above.
6. By entering, each contestant agrees to abide by these rules and regulations
and the decisions of the contest organization, which are final and binding on
all entrants. All entries become the property of the Sponsor and none will be
returned. The selected winners will be required to sign a release and consent
to the use of their name, city of residence, photograph, voice, comments and/or
image for any publicity carried out by the Sponsor or their agencies without
further compensation. A list of Prizewinners may be obtained by visiting www.arlafoods.ca within
120 days after the contest closing date.
7. The contest is subject to all applicable federal, provincial and municipal
laws.
8. The Prizes must be accepted as awarded, is non-transferable and cannot
be exchanged for cash. At their election, for any reason whatsoever,
the Sponsor may substitute any component of the Prize with a prize
of equivalent or greater value. For Quebec residents, any litigation
respecting the conduct or organization of a publicity contest may be
submitted to the Régie des alcools, des
courses et des jeux for a ruling. For Quebec residents, any litigation respecting
the awarding of a prize may be submitted to the Régie only for the purpose
of helping the parties reach a settlement.
9. The personal information collected from each entrant in the course
of the Contest will be used only for the purposes of contacting the
selected entrants.
10. The Sponsor assumes no responsibility for failure of the Internet
or the website during the promotional period, for any problems or technical,
hardware, software or telephone failures of any kind, lost or unavailable
network connections or failed, incomplete, garbled or deleted computer
or network transmissions which may limit the ability to participate
in the Contest, or for any injury or damage to an entrant’s or any other person’s computer or other property
related to or resulting from playing or downloading any material related to the
Contest. The Sponsorreserves the right, in their sole discretion, but subject
in Quebec to the jurisdiction of the Régie des alcools, des courses et
des jeux, to amend, cancel or suspend the Contest, or only the online portion
of this Contest for any reason, including if a virus, bug, unauthorized human
intervention or other cause beyond their reasonable control corrupts the security,
proper administration or fairness of the Contest. Any attempt to deliberately
damage any web site or to undermine the legitimate operation of this Contest
is a violation of criminal and civil laws. Should such an attempt be made,
the Sponsor reserves the right to seek remedies and damages to the fullest extent
permitted by law, including criminal prosecution. |
